Old fashioned ideas in a modern building

MDC’s response to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention proposed guidelines on circumcision has been filed. We post it here :-

“In the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recent guidelines on male circumcision there is no account taken of the value of having an intact penis. The fact that the foreskin is specialised erogenous tissue is ignored.

Since the start of the organisation Men Do Complain about five years ago we have been contacted several times by men who have on medical advice had a circumcision as a treatment for a minor medical problem. These are a small group of men with important evidence to bring to this subject as they have experienced intercourse in both the intact and circumcised condition. They all report dissatisfaction with the procedure and feel that they were not properly informed about the negative consequences of circumcision.

The CDC should not be making an exceptional claim namely, that the excision of healthy specialised tissue from a child who cannot give informed consent is merely a risk against benefit calculation. The CDC should be providing exceptionally robust evidence that there is no degree of harm involved in the circumcision of a child who cannot give or withhold consent.”

You still have one more day to post a comment. Please do take the time to write and tell the CDC what you think about their guidelines.

  1. The CDC conveniently overlooks the European medical community’s recent denunciation of American circumcision policy (link below). The trajectory of human history has always been the struggle between tyranny and freedom. Our founding fathers thought they had established a free nation that would sustain its freedom through our constitutional guarantees. They did not count on the cunning and cruelty of the circumcision superstition, nor did they envision that our nation’s doctors would sneak it into our culture as medicine. Now the Federal Government has made its most arrogant venture into the circumcision wars, with a new Centers for Disease Control initiative to support the failing policy of the American Academy of Pediatrics. I do not view this as a setback in the slightest. It’s a sign of their desperation, that the American people are rejecting the bloody penis surgery that has wounded generations of our sons, and the people who love them. A faceless bureaucrat at the CDC cannot alter the course of history. We are a free people in the process of fighting off yet another tyranny in the cruel history of mankind. http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/early/2013/03/12/peds.2012-2896.full.pdf+html

  2. Thank you very much, MEN DO COMPLAIN, your power gives me hope for a better future for our children and their children. Your work is so important.

Germany (Ringel / Meyer; Tatjana Hörnle), bad enough, and unfortunately now even Great Britain are paving the way towards the so called “mild Sunnah” type, towards a legal FGM. We should stop this, any form of FGM or MGM should be banned everywhere.

Judge Sir James Munby can know that the circumcision of girls is religion, part of several hadith and many fatwa. The Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) of Shafii madhhab and many Ulama of Hanbali madhhab regard FGM as wajib, i. e. as a religious duty. So khitan al-inath (sunat perempuan; FGM) is part of authentic Islam.

Muhammad said to the muqaṭṭiʿa al-buẓūr (cutter of clitorises) Umm ‘Aṭiyya:

    أشمِّي ولا تنهكي
    ašimmī wa-lā tanhakī
[Cut] slightly and do not overdo it

    اختفضن ولا تنهكن
    iḫtafiḍna wa-lā tanhikna
    Cut [slightly] without exaggeration

Today several Muslim clerics promote a “mild sunnah” circumcision, who tells Judge Munby f. e. abot this fatwa. What is the Ruling on Circumcision for Women?
Circumcision is obligatory upon men and women according to us (i.e. the Shafi’is). (Majmu’ of Imam An-Nawawi 1:164) The circumcision is wajib upon men and women according to the rājih qawl of Shāfi’ī madhhab. Answered by: Sidi Abdullah Muḥammad al-Marbūqī al-Shāfi’ī. Checked by: Al-Ustāż Fauzi ibn Abd Rahman

And again: any form of FGM or MGM should be banned everywhere.
